Section 1362 of Title 18 of the United States Code (18 U.S.C. § 1362) forbids injuring or damaging communication systems operated or controlled by the United States, or used or intended to be used for military or civil defense functions of the United States.

The maximum penalty for violating section 1362 is ten years in prison.

Sentences for violations of section 1362 are governed by section ___ of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines Manual.
