Section 2701 of Title 18 of the United States Code (18 U.S.C. § 2701) bars unauthorized access, alteration, or prevention of access to stored wire or electronic communications.

The maximum penalty for violationg section 2701 is two years in prison.

Sentences for violating section 2701 are determined under section ___ of the Sentencing Guidelines Manual.
